Lee Outboxes Woodall, Loses On The Score Cards?

This past Wednesday night at B.B. Kings Bar & Grill in Times Square New York, we were supposed to see another victory from the Young All Star DeVaun “Unique” Lee, however what ensued over the six rounds on the under card of Lou Dibella’s Broadway Boxing event only painted half of the picture. The first round would see the longer and smarter Lee establish a jab and dodge most of the punches from his younger foe, Steed Woodall would find a hard time getting to his target and had no answer early on for the swift body and foot movement. Continuing on through the second round Lee frequently found his mark with the jab and looked to be winning the bout with mostly just his left hand as Woodall, signed by DBE Promotions; aggressively stalked “Unique” but couldn’t put more than one good punch at a time together. Already up two rounds it looked as if the 3rd round was mostly for Woodall who was game and finally had found a few punches that landed during exchanges as Lee seemingly took a round off. Going in to the fourth round Lee was back at it popping his jab and following it with overhand rights, sneaky lead uppercuts, and defense that kept him out of danger going in to the final two rounds. Already seemingly ahead on scorecards Lee instead of taking a step back continued to outbox his opponent and show the undefeated youngster what real boxing was, his aggressiveness paid off and he was able to stagger Woodall a couple of times during heating exchanges in the 5th and 6th round giving the crowd something to cheer about. Emphatically cementing a win with hard shots in the closing seconds it seemed to be a clear decision victory in favor of Lee as he was able to outbox an aggressive opponent who just couldn’t land more than one punch at a time and usually walked in empty handed when charging forward. What Lee’s team would encounter along with the fans in attendance was a bizarre score card of 56-56 even, and 58-56 twice in favor of the still “undefeated” Steed Woodall. We would be wrong as a team and myself as a webmaster to just plain and outright bash the judges or Steed Woodall who was all class before and after the fight, it was a fight that we are puzzled still with the outcome but we do not want to downplay the efforts put in by our opponent who was the A-side of the promotion. We would like to congratulate Woodall and his team on the win and we will take this as another lesson in a young career but say hello to The New Villain!
